OP Basketball Update
February 6, 2015
This past Tuesday, the basketball team made the long and treacherous journey to Jonathan Dayton High School. Last time the two teams met, the score was decided by a game winner from Roland Whitley, so this game was sure to be exciting. Dayton, hungry for revenge, came roaring out of the gates. Heading into the fourth quarter, it looked bleak, as Oratory trailed by eight. However, despite 19 points on the game from Dayton’s Amir Mayfield, the Rams stormed back and overwhelmed the Bulldogs 18-9 in the fourth to seal another win. Roland Whitley led the way with 17 points, while Austin Lee added 8 points.
Thursday, the Rams played host to Governor Livingston. Despite their strongest efforts, the team fell 48-33. Though they fought hard and found themselves down 3 at half, the game was lost in a 3rd quarter which saw the Rams outscored 13-2. Now at 9-6, the team will look to rebound Monday against Roselle.
