OP Lacrosse Preview
March 1, 2016
‘Tis the season for spring sports!
Baseball, lacrosse, golf, track and other spring sports teams are starting on Friday. Every team is excited to get back out on their respective fields and deliver some stellar performances. In particular, lacrosse is hoping to make a bigger run in states and counties than last year’s second round defeat. The team is looking to be led by seniors Matt Lanigan in goal, Matt Davis on defense and Cam Magee on the attack. Juniors Jake Kontra, Joel Pascuzzi, Anthony Silvestri and Jake Gieselman are also looking to have breakout seasons in order to help the Rams keep a solid record and a big name in the tournament area. After the graduation of most of their defensemen, this team is going to look to the juniors and underclassmen to fill the big slots that the old defensemen will leave. Although it might be tough, the potential of a few is looking to be high.
The team will take a big break from Long Hill practices as they head down to Disney with the baseball team to scrimmage different teams and have a fun, team-bonding experience at one of the most known parks in the country. All in all, lacrosse is looking to once again be one of the powerhouse sports at Oratory.

Mark:
Nice article about OP LAX. Make sure you remind a particular sophomore midfielder to protect his stick, avoid dodging out of double/triple teams, and limiting turnovers this year. As we both know, goals win games but possessions win championships.
