Varsity Baseball Preview
March 2, 2016
It’s that time of the year again. The smell of the freshly cut turf grass and peanuts blowing through the air. It’s baseball season! This coming Friday, March 4, will mark the first day of practice and tryouts.
This year the varsity baseball team looks to have one of its best seasons in school history behind the backs of eleven returning seniors: Ed Foley, Kevin Sullivan, Josh Cucuzzella, Chris Hutchison, Matt Schum, Joe Paladino, Aidan Adamcik, Kyle Fudenna, Patrick Budisak, Arya Bharatiya and Daniel Skea. The team is comprised of hard-throwing pitchers and spectacular defense and offense. They are the team to beat in their conference and a team to watch in Union County. If the team achieves their goal of winning their county conference, it will be OP’s first baseball conference championship since 2007. The team this year looks to make deep runs in the Union County Tournament and as well as the State Tournament. Let’s make this season one to remember for the seniors as it’s their last rodeo. Go Rams!
