Premier League September Recap
September 27, 2016
The start of the 16-17 Premier League season saw 8 teams hire new managers in a bid to win the title for the upcoming season. Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side got off to a perfect start as they won all 6 of their games. Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, and Manchester United all trail City from 4 to 6 points as they all won 4 of their games. Arsenal and Liverpool’s big wins against Chelsea have definitely helped them reach where they are.
In the middle of the table, Palace, Chelsea, and Southampton have had all right starts to the season. Antonio Conte’s Chelsea got off to a good start by winning his first three games, however, they’re winless in the last three. Palace and Southampton are 3-1-2 and 2-2-2 respectively.
The relegation zone is currently occupied by West Ham, Stoke, and Sunderland. West Ham have 1 win and 5 losses, while the other two teams still haven’t won a game. West Ham’s move into the new Olympic Stadium has obviously not helped them keep their good form from last season. Mark Hughes and David Moyes have to get their teams on the win sheet soon before they fall too far behind.
