Senior Class Trip

John Abili, Soccer Correspondent

Oratory’s senior class had it’s class trip on Wednesday the 25th. The trip included 2 hours at Chelsea Pier’s indoor fieldhouse and lunch at Churrascaria Plataforma, a famous Brazilian steakhouse.

When the class arrived at the field house, the first order of business was a huge 7-minute dodgeball game. After that, everyone had the choice of playing soccer or basketball. On the soccer field, the green pinnies dominated the tournament. In particular, Mike Koomar had superb performances, keeping a shutout as goalie and even scoring a goal. After 40 minutes of this, the group moved over to the gymnastics section of the fieldhouse. The class enjoyed rock climbing, tire swinging, jousting, and a trampoline. Some intense jousting matches (best out of 3) included Jack Lazar vs Anthony Silvestri, with Jack coming out on top. In the battle of the Johns, John Abili was able to go undefeated against John Cannilla. The most intriguing match was easily Mike Koomar vs Matt Falcone. Both refused to go down in the longest matchup of the day. Eventually, Koomar prevailed.
After our time at the fieldhouse was up, we got back on the bus to head to lunch. At Churrascaria, everyone was served meat upon meat upon meat. The food varied from steak wrapped in bacon to pork. Every student enjoyed the thoroughly cooked meat and the dessert that came afterward. We boarded the bus back to OP satisfied.
