St. Louis University Bus Driver Leaves CBB Team Stranded

When a home crowd chants, “Warm the buses,” it is meant to have the bus ready for the away team to hop on after a loss. After a tough loss to St. Bonaventure, the Saint Louis University men’s basketball team was ready to head back to the airport. However, their ‘warmed’ bus had left the facility without them. The team walked out of the arena, but the bus that brought them there was gone. The bus driver, Linda Edmister, had not only left the scene but also traveled almost 40 miles with a BAC of 0.22 percent.

As the players waiting for the bus to be found, they hung out around the arena playing cards and napping to pass the time. They were stuck until senior guard Mike Crawford came up with a brilliant idea. He asked Coach Travis Ford if he had left his iPad on the bus. After the coach affirmed Crawford’s initial thoughts, they came up with the idea of using the “Find my iPhone” feature to locate the location of the device. Authorities followed this location and found the missing bus. Shortly after, the players would stop at the location, grab their belongings, and head back to the airport. The team did not get home until 2:30 in the morning, more than two hours after they were supposed to be back. Even though they lost both the game and the bus on Wednesday, the Billikens are looking to put it behind them for their matchup against Duquesne on Saturday.
