Featured Student: Cam Semple

Carlo Lutero, Staff Writer

The mean, green, Syracuse prospect machine: Cameron Semple is a must-know Oratory student. Many have seen him throughout the hallways cackling in one of his two quarter-zip sweaters. When he’s not working hard in class, Cameron spends his time leading the Oratory Varsity lacrosse team to victory or making his daily solo food trips, typically to Five Guys. This week, I was gifted with the opportunity to sit down and converse with Mr. Semple.

Q:Why did you decide to come to Oratory?

A: It was a tough decision, but in the end, my parents made me.

Q: What has been your favorite Oratory tradition?

A: Definitely attending all of the big sports games against New Providence…I like beating them.

Q: What is your favorite memory at Oratory so far?

A: Going to Florida with the lacrosse team my sophomore year.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher? Why?

A: I can’t choose, but it is definitely either Mr. Gaertner, Mr. Kaounis, or Mr. Cranley because they can make class both interesting and really funny.

Q: What will you miss most about Oratory after you graduate?

A: The boys…and all the memories I made too.

Q: Do you have any advice for underclassmen or any last thoughts you’d like to share?

A: High school is fun, but make sure you keep your grades up. They are the number one priority.
