Aaron Rodgers Coming Back?

Aaron Rodgers Coming Back?

One of the most substantial injuries this season fell onto the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers, possibly one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, sustained a broken collarbone during week 6 in an NFC North rivalry match against the Minnesota Vikings, effectively crushing any Super Bowl hopes for the Cheeseheads. Brett Hundley has been a subpar replacement, as he still hasn’t found his “NFL” pace. He can often be seen around Aaron Rodgers on the sideline trying to get any tips or advice from the veteran.

However, to many people’s surprise, at the Packer’s game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Aaron Rodgers was throwing around the old pigskin in a relaxed fashion. People say he was throwing 30 yards with another teammate, which is very uplifting for Packers fans. Immediately after his injury, the Packer’s athletic training staff announced that he might be out for the season. As the season has progressed, that prediction has become smaller and smaller. In the beginning of October, they stated he could come back as early as January of 2018. Now reports are saying that Aaron Rodgers may return to practice this week. An injured player’s return to training is one of the most significant steps towards a fast recovery. These players often feel what it is like to be back on the field and can decide to forego any minor pain they may have left to play with the team.

If Aaron Rodgers does come back to practice this week, we can assume he will play within the next three weeks. The only question is how useful he will be when he returns. Will he stay in the pocket to protect himself or will he be audacious and go right back into his old scrambling habits? Aaron Rodgers poses a threat in both situations, demonstrating his prowess over the whole league. Will the Packers be able to bounce off of his return and lead a playoff charge? Or is it too late for the injured cheeseheads?
