An Interview with Luke Jacobello

Jonathan deMontagnac, Staff Writer

Today I had the chance to interview Luke Jacobello. Luke is currently a junior, who has been attending Oratory since freshman year. He has been playing hockey ever since then. In this article, we will learn more about Luke’s involvement in the hockey team.

How long have you been playing hockey?

I have been playing hockey for about 12 years now.

Would you play hockey in college?

I would love to play hockey in college, but probably not division 1. I would like to play club hockey in college so I could still play the game that I love but also focus on my studies.

What is one word that you would use to describe yourself?

Selfless

Was there a major influence or something that swayed you chose to play hockey?

My uncle has had a big influence on my hockey career. He always took me skating when I was very little and introduced me to ice hockey at a young age.

Who would you say is the biggest influence in your life currently for school and hockey?

Although it might sound cliche, my influences are my parents. I have always admired their hard work and dedication to their jobs and their families.

Do you have any pregame routines? If so what are they?

I have a few pregame routines. I warm up with my teammates as we stretch, jog, and physically get ready for the game. Before the game, I also like to tape my stick and stickhandle a little to work on my puck control.

Do you currently have a personal goal (or goals) for this season? If so what are they?

I would like to set personal bests for myself in goals and assists this year.

Does anyone in your family plays (or has played) hockey? If so who?

I have a few family members that play or have played hockey. My uncle played college hockey in New York. My two cousins have both played hockey for Summit High School and have recently graduated. My brother also plays hockey and is a freshman on our high school team.
