On Tuesday the Rams bounced back from a tough loss against Elizabeth a week prior. The Rams have had the toughest schedule when compared to any other team in the conference, playing top 20 in the state teams such as St Peters Prep, Scotch Plains, and Elizabeth. The Rams looked to tally a conference win before they play Plainfield again in the 2023 Union County Tournament away. The Rams started off strong by scoring in the first minute of the game, in which Griffiths found senior captain Sean Van Hoven off a corner once again to put the Rams up 1-0. A few minutes later Plainfield would tie the game at 1 thanks to a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. Andrew Zapata helped break the tie giving captain Max Cook his first goal of the game to put them ahead 2-1. That would not stop the Rams in which Griffiths found Max Cook off a corner to put them up 3-1. The Rams would carry this offensive fire power into the second half with another Griffiths to Cook connection to complete his second hat trick of the season. Oratory tallied one more goal in the 75th minute of the game off a Henry Griffiths goal assisted by Brody Henderson. George Fagan earned the win back in goal with 4 saves and letting in two. Max Cook was named MOTM with 3 goals to put his season tally to 7 and his career number to 10. The final score of the game was 5-2, giving the Rams a conference win and momentum going into the county tournament. Henry Griffiths finished with two assists, in which both Andrew Zapata and Brody Henderson had one apiece. The Rams were put as the #14th seed in the Union County tournament, meaning they will have to play Plainfield once again to keep them alive.
