This time of year most of the OP juniors are hitting the roads during breaks trying to visit the colleges of their choice. It is important to remember some crucial things when arriving at a college tour.
Cafeteria
First stop- the cafeteria! The average college student eats 21 meals a week(excluding snacks) so it is very important that you like your school cafeteria. Also, food is a big part of energy, so if your food is good, your energy will be high.
Dorms
Next stop, dorms. It is vital to see the living quarters on campus when touring. The dorms are your new homes so you’ll want to check out the size of the rooms and the beds. It is also important that you like the common areas of these dorms because these are crucial to interacting and making friends in college.
Transportation
High School students must also consider the transportation around the campus. How are students getting to class? Are they biking or are they taking a bus to their next class?
Free Time
Another thing to keep in mind is that college students have a lot of time in between classes. It is important to see if your college has good places like a gym or library that you can utilize in between.
Make Memories
It is also important to familiarize yourself with the hours of these places as well. Spend the time on a tour to look around the campus closely so you remember it when you are filing out those applications!
