Obviously, Thanksgiving is a well-known holiday that many Americans respect. In this article, I want to go more in-depth into just how good Thanksgiving is; by ranking the Top 10 Thanksgiving Foods.
Number #10: Turkey
Although Turkey is the main face of Thanksgiving, I wouldn’t consider it close to any of the other top 10 foods on this list. The big reason why it made the list is because it is the face of Thanksgiving. Most of the time, Turkey, if cooked incorrectly can be dry and hard to chew. It really depends on preference and what you usually eat during Thanksgiving. Personally, I don’t like Turkey as much, but I do believe it can secure this top 10 spot on the list.
Number #9: Mashed Potatoes
I love Mashed Potatoes and they will always have a special place in my heart. Especially when you top off the Mashed Potatoes with some hot gravy, it is really good. But the problem with Mashed Potatoes is that they are more of an everyday food, rather than a Thanksgiving food. That’s really the main reason why it isn’t higher on this list, although it is considered a Thanksgiving food.
Number #8: Cranberry Sauce
Cranberry Sauce goes well with basically anything on the Thanksgiving food roster. It has a nice sweet glaze and once you put it on your plate, you won’t regret it. One thing I don’t like about Cranberry Sauce is that if it gets on the meat of my plate, it makes it sweet. So make sure you are careful where you place your Cranberry Sauce.
Number #7: Pumpkin Pie
I don’t know if Pumpkin Pie is considered a Thanksgiving food, but personally, I think it is. It is pretty solid, nothing too bad about it. It deserves this Number #7 spot because of the fact that you can never go wrong with it. When having pumpkin pie with your family on Thanksgiving, you can’t really be mad, can you?
Number #6: Corn
Corn is also one of those very solid foods at the Thanksgiving meals that can’t really go wrong unless you are a picky eater. Corn can be paired with virtually anything in a Thanksgiving meal. Unless the Corn is absolutely botched, I think Corn deserves this Number #6 just because of how iconic it is. Corn is just an amazing side that can’t be beaten by many things which is why it is on this top 10 list.
Number #5: Stuffing
Stuffing isn’t my personal favorite, but the vast majority of people seem to like it a lot. Stuffing isn’t bad in my opinion, just not my favorite. I won’t be mad if I have some of my grandmother’s stuffing, but not something I would eat outside of Thanksgiving. Giving this a number 5 spot only because of other people’s takes on stuffing. It really depends on your person and whether that is your taste.
Number #4: Mac and Cheese
This may be a surprise Mac and Cheese not being in the top 3, but I believe the classic Mac and Cheese does deserve a #4 spot. Mac and Cheese is another iconic everyday food that you can’t really go wrong with. The only reason why I wouldn’t consider Mac and Cheese as a top 3 Thanksgiving food is because of the fact that it’s just too basic. Mac and Cheese doesn’t have anything special. Although it is good, I just can’t put it in the top 3.
Number #3: Gravy
Getting into the top 3 Thanksgiving foods, I just have to give it to gravy. Gravy can be a key component of a Thanksgiving meal. Once you put that Gravy on the plate, you won’t regret it. It doesn’t mess up your meal and honestly, I don’t think you would be mad at a little gravy on your turkey. Depending on who makes it and your taste buds, Gravy could be for you. Try it this Thanksgiving!!!
Number #2: Sweet Potato and Yams Side
This very underground meal, Sweet Potato and Yams Side, is one of the most enjoyable Thanksgiving foods on the table. You get this sweet goodness, topped off with nice Yam toppings. Especially when you bring the entire meal together with a nice, marshmallow glaze that makes this just amazing. If you don’t like this side, I don’t really know what you are doing because you need to eat it this Thanksgiving.
Number #1: Ham
I don’t care what anyone says, Ham is the best Thanksgiving food out there. It is the best meat on the table every time. Ham goes with gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potato, and anything else on this list. Ham just has this amazing meaty taste that is absolutely amazing. It is so pure and the perfect Thanksgiving meal. For some reason, Gavin Kimble said ham is not number 1, but he has no clue what he is talking about. You should eat Ham this Thanksgiving!!!
