I have been doing breakfast sandwich reviews this year, and I have gotten a lot of feedback from my peers. John Cooney (AKA him) said “The sandwiches you review are way too expensive and you should rate something cheaper.” My response to this statement is that I think John is right. Those bagel sandwiches are over 7 dollars, not including the drink! So I will review one of the most classic breakfast sandwiches around–The McDonald’s Egg McMuffin.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the McDonald’s bag this morning was the small sandwich and I instantly was mad that I didn’t purchase a second one. Since I was running late to school, I didn’t want to go back around the drive-through. After I got in the car I opened the wrapping. I noticed the sandwich’s layout contains an order of the English muffin, American cheese, an egg, and a piece of Canadian bacon. One note that intrigued me was the thickness of the egg, totaling to ¾ of an inch thick.
The next step is the bite, and was excited since this sandwich is so nicely made. After the bite I came to the conclusion that the egg is perfectly seasoned and couples well with the cheese and Canadian bacon. The English Muffin, however, is pretty dry and did not have much taste. The one takeaway I have about this sandwich is the fact that it is so easy to eat. Nothing falls out of the sandwich, unlike the expensive sandwiches I have reviewed in the past.
