Oratory Basketball is back. After disappointing losses to Delbarton and Cranford, the team bounced back with major victories over conference opponent Hillside and Wardlaw-Hartridge as well. The boys started off the game against Hillside slower than expected, finishing with a 1Q score of 13-13. However, after the first quarter the Rams turned on the jets, winning each of the next three quarters and the game. Max Cook led the scoring against Hillside with 18 with John Pirone pitching in 13 and Asher Bradley adding 12. Oratory finished the game with a final score of 57-44. Against Wardlaw-Hartridge, the score sheet was very balanced, the Rams were able to get everyone involved while still putting on a dominant performance. Oratory started off strong and never looked back. Sophomore Ryan Fay earned player of the game with 8 points. Oratory finished with a dominating score of 58-16.
Oratory is now looking to pick up a win against a tough conference opponent Rahway to complete the sweep, winning the first matchup with a dominant score of 50-32. During that first game, John Pirone put up a dominant 21 points with Cook and Bradley adding 13 and 10. Everyone will be expecting big performances from these 3 as well as senior Patrick Connif and senior Nick Servitto.
