As my final year here at Oratory comes to a close, I can’t help but think of all the great memories, lessons, and experiences that I have been through throughout my time here at OP. Throughout the good times and bad, Oratory has always been like a second home for me and so many of my fellow classmates, it’s truly been a blessing getting to know and be a part of this growing community that is the brotherhood of Oratory Prep. I’ve hoped that over my four years here, I’ve found a way to be a positive influence on all of my peers or anyone else that I’ve come into contact with. I believe that the legacy I’ve built for myself is someone who is not only one of the hardest workers throughout the school but also a student-athlete who found a way to balance the rigorous school workload, while still being able to perform at such a high level, especially in track and field. I believe that I have set an example not only for my fellow seniors, but also for underclassmen of what it means to be a hard worker, and how it is possible to have good grades and find a way to work just as hard in practice day in and day out. It’s never easy balancing sports and academics, yet Oratory has been able to help me and mold me into a young man who can balance the two and find a way to be a part of a multitude of clubs and organizations around the school. I’ll be leaving behind my tenacious spirit, of always finding a way to get around an issue or problem at hand and finding a solution to that issue no matter what. Along with this tenacious spirit, I want many of the underclassmen to see me as the embodiment of leadership and dedication in both my education and in sports and the lasting impact that I’ve made on my teammates, coaches, and the Oratory community. Showing my younger teammates day in and day out how tireless work and dedication will bring positive and incredible results and how pushing beyond your boundaries will not only test your mental and physical limits but how once you have tested those limits you will achieve more than you could ever imagine. Overall, I hope to leave behind a legacy that transcends from just beyond the classroom, as someone who positively influenced everyone around him and was seen as a dedicated young man with unwavering determination and passion.
