After the Ram’s big win against Dayton, they then had to travel to Madison High to play the 4-1 Dodgers. Madison is always a solid Morris County team, as they compete with teams such as Hanover Park, Chatham, and Delbarton consistently. Thomas Albanito would play a huge factor in this game in his second start of the season.
Oratory was down early in the bottom of the first as an error led it to be 2-0. Oratory would gain a run back next time up on offensive to cut the Dodger lead in half. Albanito would settle in after a rocky first inning with being efficient as he did not walk anyone after the first inning. His persistent let the Rams eventually settle in offensively. In the top half of the fourth Noah Falcon would gain his first hit of a season as he hit a double over the right fielder to put the Rams ahead. Jalen Brogdon also achieved his first varsity hit driving in a run to make it 4-2. After this inning their would be no scoring until the top of the 7th inning. Albanito continued to cruise throughout the game as he would be at 80 pitches thrown after the 6th inning. Mr Blauner knew it from the start as he said “this is his game,” after a very strong tenure after the 1st. In the top half of the 7th the Ram’s pateince at tje plate paid off as they walked in two runs in a row. Ben Gaffney would then break the game open with a 2rbi single to make it 9-2.
Albanito would strike out the last batter of the game with a sword k, making this game one for the books. With this 9-2 win the Rams improved their record to 2-4 as they place Union Catholic in a divisional matchup on Tuesday.
