New York Playoffs
The New York teams have shown off in the regular season, but now it is time to look into the playoffs. Where the regular season doesn’t matter, and anything can happen. The Rangers and Knicks have been great, so let’s take a deeper dive into what has led them to this success.
Knicks:
The Knicks have been the most surprising team this year, and they aren’t playing like it. They are playing with so much confidence and determination. They won the first-round series vs the 76ers in 6 games. They dominated almost every game. Even in one of the games that they lost, they had the lead for pretty much the whole game. The Knicks and their Nova Squad have been unstoppable, especially in the fourth quarter. Brunson, Hart, and Divincenzo have put up almost 80% of the Knick’s fourth-quarter points in the last two games. They have also put up 70-90 points combined throughout the playoffs. Also, huge contributions such as OG and I-Hart have helped the Knicks arrive as title contenders heading into game three of the semi-final round. Even though they have dropped their last 2 on the road, the Knicks will return to a loud MSG and hopefully take a controlling 3-2 series lead.
Rangers:
Hockey is one of the most electrifying sports to watch. With the huge hits, great puck play, and willingness to put their bodies on the line, playoff hockey is truly amazing. The New York Rangers have been nothing but dominant this season, and it has translated into the playoffs. They swept their first-round series vs the Capitals. They now hold a 3-1 lead against the Hurricanes. They have been highlighted by their late gameplay and their ability to never let a game slip away from them. Trocheck has been amazing this postseason with a league-leading nine goals. As people say you can’t win without defense, and the Rangers have been doing a pretty good job of this. Shesterkin has allowed just around 2 goals per game this postseason. I think if there is anywhere to improve going into the later rounds their defense would be the most important. They are playing outstandingly, and hope to continue their dominance.
