There is a big argument in Morristown, or as I call it, Costelloville, on the bagel shops: The Bagelry, Morristown Bagel, and Time for a Bagel (TFAB). Therefore, I will do what I do best and settle this debate by trying out Time for a Bagel.
TFAB is unlike most bagel shops. The first thing I realized when I bought this bagel was the price. I bought four THECS for only $17! To put that to comparison, the Bagelry, which got rated an 8.5/10, was over seven dollars for one bagel.
But despite this, I will be unbiased and rate this bagel solely on the taste. At first glance, I noticed that the bagel was much smaller than all the other bagels I rated. Secondly, I saw how thick the bread was, which usually when writing these reviews I gaze at and admire it. However, there were only two slices of Taylor Ham and one egg. Before even biting I could tell that the bagel would overwhelm the sandwich.
And that’s what it did. It dominated the sandwich. The Taylor Ham was great, but there was not a lot of meat. The egg was tasty, but there was not a lot of egg. TFAB had the lowest bagel-to-Taylor Ham ratio of all my ratings. Or as AP Econ teacher Mr. Sartori would say: The Taylor Ham’s supply curve has shifted to the left. With that being said, the bread was incredible. It was soft, yet crispy and warm. The cheese was by far the best cheese I’ve had on a bagel. It was gooey, yet not messy. It almost makes me want to make the rating on cheese a 3/2 because giving it a 2/2 seems mingy.
The cooks at TFAB are great. The food was great. I had a pleasant time eating this. In fact, I would even go as far as saying this was the most tasty bagel I’ve had on this journey of eating bagels. However, I wanted more meat and cheese. TFAB is stingy.
The rating:
Bagel: 3/3
Taylor Ham: ⅔
egg:/1/2
Cheese: 2/2
Total: 8/10
With just some more egg and meat this would dethrone Pascarella Brothers.
