The winter season has begun. At OP, that means the start of the Mock Trial season. Today I will be interviewing OP sophomore John Kennedy, a respected, smart, student who is on the Mock Trial team. He has worked very hard in the subject for a while and we would like to see his insight.
How long have you been at OP for?
This is my second year
When did you join Mock Trial?
“Last year”
What made you want to join?
“I’ve always been really interested in the legal process and I wanted to learn how to make better arguments”
Overall, how do you feel about Mock Trial?
“I really enjoy it. I think it’s really teaching me a lot”
What are you most proud of?
“I’m most proud of how much I improved in my acting abilities and how I’m able to find information that’s not on the surface.”
Is there anything you’re planning on improving this year?
“I’m definitely planning on not only improving my arguing abilities but also the level of effort I put in”
What do you think of your team?
“I think it’s filled to the brim with hard workers and it’s clear that everyone has passion”
What is your goal for the future?
“My goal is to eventually get an attorney role and to make it to state finals”
What do you believe your team needs to succeed this year?
“I think our team needs not only a lot of hard work and effort, but it will also require a great amount of teamwork and cooperation”
