Last week, the day after the election, I woke up late due to staying up until 4:00 AM. Since I was already late for school, I thought I might as well be even later and review a bagel for the Omega.
Recently, a new bagel shop opened in Morristown. The Bagel Nosh which is located right next to the Bagelry (which I rated an 8.5/10). I hoped it was up to par with the Bagelry.
When I got into the shop, I ordered my Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese, and despite the line, it came out very fast. I figured I was already way too late so, I brought it to school. When I opened it, it was still hot.
Now onto the review: The sandwich was neat. Everything was tightly packed in, and the bagel held together very nicely, which was a solid touch. There were four slices of thick Taylor ham, two eggs, and a good amount of cheese. I couldn’t wait to take a bite.
When I tasted it, there was one flavor that popped out the most– pepper. I ask for salt and pepper every time, but there usually isn’t that much pepper. This was the most pepper I’ve ever eaten on a bagel. It overwhelmed the sandwich. And despite everything else tasting good, I couldn’t really get rid of the taste of pepper.
As I continued to eat the sandwich, everything still stayed neat. The bagel was soft and warm, and the Taylor Ham, with the exception of all the pepper, tasted really good. However, the egg and the cheese were kind of just there. They didn’t add anything in terms of taste. The cheese didn’t burst in my mouth, and the egg didn’t taste very good. That was a problem for sure. But despite that, I enjoyed this sandwich very much. It was a good way to start the day.
