It was recently announced that Scotti’s Record Shop on Springfield Avenue in Summit town will be closing its doors after almost 70 years of business. The store first opened in 1956 and has been a great destination for music lovers that have come from all over to visit Scotti’s. Anthony Scotti was the founder of the shop and his son Gary made the ultimate decision to close the store with his retirement. Over the course of its history Scotti’s had stores in Madison, Morristown, Chester and Gillette, but the Summit location was the original and final standing store. The store will be closed by the end of the month and is currently holding a 20% off sale on all merchandise. It is sad to see this end of an era and the community is invited to visit the store before it closes, utilize the closing sales, and say goodbye to a store that has certainly left a mark on downtown Summit.
