After a loss against the Union Farmers in the second round of the UCT tournament, the Rams next obstacle is the Non Public A state tournament. However they still have some regular season games left to play and they got a win over Mount Olive by 27, 72-45. The Rams are still not giving up and want to make a tournament run one last time. After the game against Mount Olive they were then faced with 20 win ALJ.
It was a very good defensive and sloppy game in the first half, only being 20-19 in favor of the Rams. The main problem was the Rams shooting ability was limited as Johnson was in a zone formation, as the Rams needed to adjust. Daugherty, at half time, would have to come up with a plan to counteract this defense on the offensive side of the ball, as the defensive part of their game was very exceptional. The Rams in the third quarter started off slow yet again, although earning a 4 point lead going into the remaining frame. OP went onto outscore Johnson yet again 18-11 in the fourth quarter to earn a 49-39 point win. Brandon Lissade’s two hand breakaway jam put the exclamation point on the win, improving Oratory to a 15-7 record. This is the first time Oratory has gotten a 15 win season since the 2021-2022 season where they won the Mountain Division Conference. Ryan Fay lead the scoring with 14, followed by Max Cook having 13 trailing just behind him. Cook was not just helpful with his scoring, but also achieved a double-double performance with 12 rebounds, and 9 assist as he was one assists shy of his second triple-double of the season. The Rams next play Governor Livingston at home in their final game at DeGeata Hall for the 24-25 season, so show out one final time and get a free t shirt!
