The NFL draft is rapidly approaching. With just around 50 days left and the combine over, there are many different ways this years’ draft could play out. Here’s my first mock draft for the first 10 picks with no trades.
- Tennessee Titans: Abdul Carter (EDGE)- Penn State
I do not see the Titans addressing the quarterback just yet, perhaps giving Levis one more year. Carter is elite, boasting one of the most impressive resumes we’ve seen for a prospect. The only major concern is his injury status, but it seems like he will at least go on with a pro day. Tennessee has said that they want a generational talent on the team and Carter is the answer.
- Cleveland Browns: Cam Ward (QB)- Miami
I like Ward over Shaduer Sanders. He can make plays from nothing and is great in the pocket. Cleveland is likely going to move on from Desahaun Watson after his new Achilles injury, which will sideline him for most, if not all, of next season. Ward will need some time to develop but could be a star down the road for the Browns.
- New York Giants: Travis Hunter (WR/CB)- Colorado
Hunter is quite possibly the best player in this draft. I believe the Giants will likely pick up a QB in free agency and maybe draft a guy like Jaxson Dart later. Hunter will fill holes at two positions, making him a very unique player. He can play wide receiver alongside Nabers and be that lockdown corner that the secondary needs.
- New England Patriots: Will Campbell (OT)- LSU
The Patriots can use this pick to bolster their struggling O-line. Campbell is a stud tackle who will immediately make an impact for Maye. Although WR is an issue at the moment, I believe there are many great options that will be available later in the draft.
- Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham (DT) Michigan
Graham is a go-to pick for the Jaguars in this spot. He is able to penetrate the o-line of opponents and quickly find himself in the backfield sacking the QB. The Jags can use a standout defensive player, and Graham gives them that.
- Las Vegas Raiders: Shedeur Sanders (QB)- Colorado
Sanders is a perfect fit for the Raiders. They have expressed interest in him for a while, and this would be what the Raiders have been looking for. They finally get a young and fresh franchise guy.
- New York Jets: Will Johnson (CB)- Michigan
Johnson is a lockdown corner who will be a lethal combo with Sauce Gardner. The Jets defense will heavily improve from Johnson. I believe they will look for a QB either in free agency or later in the draft.
- Carolina Panthers: Tetiaroa Mcmillan (WR)- Arizona
McMillan will be a stud with his size and ability to go up for 50/50 balls. Bryce Young finally gets his no. 1 target with McMillan.
- New Orleans Saints: Tyler Warren (TE)- Penn State
It’s hard to tell where the Saints can go from here. I believe getting a guy like Warren will add another great weapon along with Olave.
- Chicago Bears: Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT)- Texas
The Bears can provide protection for Caleb Williams as their o-line struggled last year. There are a couple different ways the Bears could go depending on what they feel is the biggest need. Here they take the best player available in Banks.
Things will definitely change from now up to the draft, but this is likely how the first 10 picks will go.
